Driving By To Say Hi!

Today's card is made for a friend who is in the hospital all alone and needs to be cheered up and to let them know that we are thinking of him!

Masculine cards are a little more tricky for me.  I want the card to be fun but not too sparkly.  That is a fine line to walk, my friend!

I started with the Driving By stamp set (a FREE Sale-a-bration item with $50 purchase 158099) because our friend was kind of into cars.  Perfect!  I stamped the vehicle images on the Basic White Cardstock and then colored them with these Stampin' Blends colors:   Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, and Balmy Blue.  I then fussy cut each out and I took off the presents on the top of the Volkswagon and the balloons from the little fancy convertible.  I didn't think our friend would need those.

The base of the card is a piece of Pool Party Cardstock that was cut in half to measure 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".  The Designer Series Paper next in the layer is from the Sunshine & Rainbows set which is a Sale-a-bration item also , #158126, FREE with a $50 purchase right now!  I cut the piece one quarter of an inch smaller than the cardstock.

The next layer is also from the Sunshine & Rainbows set and is one quarter of an inch smaller than the previous layer (see my pattern?).

I then cut little strips of the back sides of the Sunshine & Rainbows set to act as roads to place the vehicles on.  I also put one behind my "sign" or sentiment as kind of a sign post type of thing.  The sentiment was punched out with the Label Me Fancy Punch.

I glued down the little "roads" pieces and then put Dimensionals on the backs of the vehicles.  The sentiment was glued down.

All set!

Now the husband is going to be in charge of writing some words on the inside.

I hope you like it!

You can find all of the items on my Project Page (My Projects Page) on my website except for the Sale-a-bration items.  Those are easily obtained by placing a $50 order for each on my website My Online Shop.  Have fun!
