Snowy Birthdays

Do you have a winter birthday or know someone who does?  I have two people in my family who have birthdays in December and they kind of get ripped off with the Holidays being front and center for a lot of people.

Today I wanted to share my little snowman friend who is having a birthday and is having a darn fine time of it, too!  He is from the Snowman Season Stamp Set.

I started out with a Basic White piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scoring at 4 1/4".  To that, since it's a party, I took a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Pool Party cardstock and stamped some snowflakes and snowballs for a light background using Pool Party ink.  The next layer was a piece of Basic White measuring 5" x 3-3/4". I ran it through my Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I used the 3rd up from the smallest size of the Layering Diorama dies for a little window.

Because I love sparkles so much, I had to add the White Glitter Organza Ribbon under two scalloped ovals that I had punched out with the Double Oval Punch using Basic White and a scrap piece of Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper.

I found the cutest sentiment in a set called All Squared Away.  I used a little bit darker ink in Bermuda Bay for this.  The font is so cute!  Can you see the little holiday rhinestone on the right side?  These are my absolute favorite embellishments!

Then it was time for the Birthday Boy himself!  I stamped our little friend on a scrap of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Now you know what I'm going to say next, right??

Of course, I grabbed my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and used Pool Party Ink and Pumpkin Pie to add some colorful sparkly magic to the little guy.  I just can't stop using that technique!

I popped the snowman up with Dimensionals along with the white scallop piece with the sentiment.

We had a good time today!

You can find all of the items that I used on My Project Page on my website.

I hope you liked making a Birthday card during a pretty holiday kind of month!

See you next time!

Coloring with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

My stars!  Who knew how much fun this is?  I was watching another Stampin' Up! demonstrator working on a card and low and behold she used her Wink of Stella Glitter Brush in her ink and WOW!  It was just so brilliant.  I couldn't wait to try this out and well, I just keep doing it.  I just placed an order in the Black Friday Seasonal Sale today for paper, ink, and a couple of dies that are on sale and I thought I'd better get another!  Here you can watch as I color the little tree that appears in my previous blog post.

Links for everything are in the comments of my video!  Please share with me what you color with Wink of Stella.  It is the GREATEST!

See you next time!

Bottle Tags

I almost titled this post as Wine Bottle Tags, but then I thought, wait!  There are so many bottles that could be decorated...lol.  There's no limit!

I recently received my kit, Love Santa (158375) which is available any time while quantities last in my online shop.  This kit is designed to have you create many cute tags for the holidays.  When the kit arrived, I immediately wanted to make some other things first.  Gee whiz, already off topic!

To start things off, I measured a piece of Mint Macaroon Cardstock 8 1/4" x 2" with a score at about 2" from one end.  I used a little circle die cut that was from the Frightful Tags Die Set for the wine bottle to fit.  Then I took a slip of leftover Designer Series Paper from Whimsical Trees and cut it slightly smaller than the tag.  There was a tiny bit of DSP paper left, so I cut a tag from Tailor Made Tags that would allow my sentiment to fit.  I planned on using the non-sparkly/tree side.

From the Love Santa kit, I took the big Christmas Tree and punched it out.  I cut off the top circle tag part and glued it at an angle on my bottle tag. I then placed some embellishments from the kit randomly on the tree because SPARKLEY!!  Then I stamped the sentiment Merry and bright from the stamps included in the kit onto the trio tag.  I used the red and white twine included to tie a bow on the tag and then glued it at a slight angle to the bottle tag.

TA-DA!  A bottle now has clothes, just like Hermione making clothes for the elves in Harry Potter.  Well, it's a stretch.

Just thing, you could make tags to decorate soaps, body wash, mini bottles, soda bottles, water bottles (don't give that as a gift, I mean really, or do because it's the thought that counts, right?) or whatever you can think of!

Have fun and share your ideas with me on my Facebook Page!

You can find all of the items that I used to make this tag under My Projects on my website at:

Enjoy!

See you next time!

Giving Thanks - Prepping for the new Holiday Catalog starting on Tuesday!

I am THANKFUL...for so many things, but let's talk the new Holiday Catalog lol!  This coming Tuesday, August 3 the new catalog along with Sale-abration goes live!  As a demonstrator I've been able to pre-order items throughout the whole month of July and get to show you some of them in the next few days.

My live event will be on my Facebook Event Page: Holiday Catalog Kick-off.  Everyone who attends will have their name entered into a drawing for a gift from me!  Hope to see you!

Let's get started with a couple of cards that I made:

This is a favorite with the beautiful Sale-abration Specialty Paper (156629) Be Dazzling that you can get for FREE with a $50 order starting on August 3.  I die cut pumpkins from the Detailed Pumpkin die set (156477) that comes in a bundle with the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set (156472).  I used a standard card base with Merry Merlot (146979).  I then used the Bark 3D embossing folder (155431) on a slightly smaller piece of Merry Merlot.  The sentiment is from the new Time of Giving stamp set (156509) stamped with Early Espresso ink pad (147114) on a small strip of Pale Papaya cardstock (155668).  This was placed on a die label cut from the Meadow Dies set (155852) cut from a scrap piece of Early Espresso cardstock (119686).  I cut a small piece of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon (155780) in half and put this through the label.  I also cut some flower pieces in Evening Evergreen and Pale Papaya (155641).  These were glued to the extra piece of Merry Merlot and then the sentiment was placed over that with dimensionals.  The pumpkins were glued with glue dots on the two side pumpkins and dimensionals were used for the center pumpkin.  I love these colors combined together so much!

My next card done was with a standard card base of Evening Evergreen (155574) and a piece of Designer Series Paper Bloom Where You're Planted (155696).  On a side note, today is the last day of the DSP sale.  Behind the piece of DSP, I placed the leftover Be Dazzling scrap that I had cut the pumpkins out of for the first card, as a border.  Then on the actual DSP I used a Versa Mark Stamp for the pumpkins and the sentiment from the Stamp Set from above, Pretty Pumpkins.  I then used gold embossing powder and used my heat gun to make it shiny.  I love the shiny!

There are so many great sets to see!  Can't wait to show you and tell you all about the great specials available!  If you want to save a lot, consider joining my team when Sale-abration starts.  Not only will you receive $125 of product that you get to pick for $99 but you will also be able to select from a list of new bundles, a set for FREE.  You will then be able to always shop at a discount as a Stampin' Up! Discount Demonstrator or pursue this as a business.  There's no better time to join!

Sheepy Lunchbox Notes or Gift Notes

This week I've been busy mailing things to my kids.  I like to pop in a little card that is like a lunchbox note, like back in the day when they were little.  This lead me to wanting to make some for my knitting friends, too!  I'm gearing up for some fun summer knitting projects and I like to include little lunchbox notes with those also.  All of these thoughts brings me to these little guys:

I love 'em!  They're little, only 3" x 3" so I was able to use up some leftovers also!  I don't use envelopes for my lunchbox cards as they are too small to mail but if you like to have those, you surely can pop them into an envelope.

I'm adding things to my Etsy Shop (Shana's Etsy Shop Yarn Sundae) for finished items like these and for fun supplies paper-crafting wise.  They are in the section labeled Papercrafting Sundae.  Get it?  lol

I used Basic Black Cardstock cut 3" x 3", the sheep from Hippo Happiness (#158289), the Hippo & Friends Dies (#153585), Basic White Cardstock, True Love Designer Series Paper for the black polka dots (it is retiring as of today sadly), Tuxedo Black memento ink (#132708), Resin Heart Embellishments (retiring today - #154578), and a little piece of sparkle paper from my April Paper Pumpkin kit (the gift that keeps on giving).  You may find all of my supplies that are available to purchase at my shop website under My Projects Tab:   My Projects  While you're there, check out all of the other cool projects and features available to see!

Here's a super fun video as I made these guys:

Go forth and make tiny cards!

I wish I was at the Beach

 Day 2 - Beachy Post

I love the Stamp Set Biggest Wish (#155052)!  I'm on card number 5 so far for using it in the last couple of days.  The colors paired here make me think of the Beach!  I even dye yarn in these colors and call it my Beach Set.  The base color cardstock is Coastal Cabana (#131297) along with the same ink (#147097) and Cinnamon Cider ink (#153114).  I used the Scalloped Contours die ((#155560) to cut out waves from matching paper I found.  The brown is also embossed with Bark Embossing Folder (#155431) to resemble sand.  The images were stamped off for a lighter appearance using the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set (#158203).  I tossed on a few embellishments that were matchy and sparkly to finish it off.

If you'd like to purchase any of these items, I have them listed on the My Projects tab on my website at My Projects

Now I wish I could grab a friend and head to the beach!  Also which friend should I mail this too??

See you next time!

Seashells by the Seashore

Good morning!

I wanted to share with you a card I made last night for a friend!  I just received the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set (#158203) and I was just playing around with it.  I also have the die set Seaside Seashells (#156095).

Here you can see the results!  The main die was cut using a scrap piece of ombre paper.  I used some retired projects as I was just playing around with things.  The starfish are die cut with Champagne Foil.  The sentiment is from the very cute stamp set Pansy Patch (#154999).  The cardstock was Gray Granite (#146983).  The front was embossed with a retired folder called Subtle 3D embossing which I use all the time and can't believe it's gone...but that is how it goes.

I stamped the shells with Pretty Peacock Ink (another just retired but I love it and I need to use up some stuff).

These past few weeks I've been trying to focus on using up some of my retired papers and inks to make room for the new Mini Catalog that will be coming out soon.  Yesterday, time was spent marking all of the things that will be retired in my personal stash.  I also cut out the die set pictures to include with each set for ease of what is all in the folder.  It's a great thing to be able to just glance over and remind myself of what the dies are capable of.

Back to the card...I used dimensionals to pop the shells up from the base of the card and then slid some shiny starfish underneath.  The sentiment came next on a leftover scrap of the ombre paper and was then trimmed.  The ribbon under the sentiment is is Snowflake Splendor (#153548) that is on clearance right now for around $4!).  I try to sneak it on to every card I make!  After everything was glued down, I used my old Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write Marker to splatter ink dots all over the front.  The card was then finished with some shiny embellishments placed here and there.  Can you see them?

This was a fun project to do using up some parts!  I truly love all of my stamp sets!  I have a hard time letting go when the catalogs change.  Some demonstrators sell their old sets but I have not reached the point of letting go.  I so enjoy using them over and over.  Maybe space one day will dictate I do that but that is no fun!  lol

I sure hope my friend likes my card!

Until next time!

Chickens, my chickens!

 Oh, my chickens!

The cute chickens from the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles were one of the main reasons why I wanted to join Stampin' Up! this past February...that and what a great deal the Starter Kit was along with some great freebies with Sale-abration (we are on the eve of another Sale-abration in August which means great deals!).  I just knew I had to have them and so I placed them in my kit.  They haven't disappointed!

The last day to take advantage of the Bundle pricing for either the Hey Chick or Hey Birthday Chick is June 30...you get the stamps and die set together for a bit of a discount.

Here is a Sampler I made using all of the dies and most of the stamps.  I didn't use the sentiments but the chickens themselves.  They are so fancy, they wanted it to be all about them!

I love making samplers!  It's a great way for me to learn all about a bundle and to just see what evolves.

I used Poppy Parade and the cute bright stripes from Pattern Party Designer Series Paper as my main focus to create this Sampler.  I left the paper at 12" x 12" and added die shapes with a striped retired paper (Pampered Pets) and Poppy Parade backgrounds.  It was so fun die cutting all of these cute things!

I'm not sure which Chick is my favorite but it might be the one with the balloon!  Can you see her pink bow tie she wanted to wear?

I have shared this project in the My Projects tab on my website and it includes items that you may purchase to create your own sampler or cards.  You can go there via this link:  My Project Page

Don't wait too long or you'll miss the Bundle Deal!  Today you also can get FREE SHIPPING with a $50 order...until good today 6/24/2021.  Hooray for deals!

See you next time!

My homage to David Rose

 David Rose's sweaters!

Recently I saw that Lion Brand Yarn has joined with the company that manages things for Schitt's Creek.  They are creating a line of yarn and sweater patterns to be released later this year for all of the cool sweaters seen on the show!  WOWWWie!  I'm so excited!  I have to knit one of those!

In the meantime, I am playing with paper that makes me think of the Rose's.  It's such a funny show!  I've watched it twice through (thanks, Covid).

The True Love Designer Series Paper that will be retiring soon is perfect to start thinking about this theme.

Here you can see that I've got quite a few scraps of the DSP still so I combined it on a Basic Black Cardstock base along with a bigger piece directly on top of that of DSP.  Then I embossed a piece of Basic Black with the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder.  On top of that, I cut strips of my leftovers.  The pink leopard piece is from the Pattern Party DSP pack that is in the new catalog.  I cut that with the soon to be retiring Curvy Dies set.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from the every so funny Stamp Set Lighthearted Lines that is popped up with dimensionals.  Loving that for you...lol.

You may notice one of my favorite old stamps in the picture from the retired Bundled Up set, a very appropriate sweater stamp for David Rose.

"I've asked you thrice..."  haha  You've just gotta watch it.  The first couple of episodes may have you saying, mmm I don't know...but just keep going!  It's so worth it!

I may have some more David Rose cards to make...stay tuned!  If you are interested in any of the materials I've used to make this card, please visit my Projects tab on my website:   Shana's Shopping Site.

No Ew about it...that was fun!

Buy The Shoes Card

Life is short.  Buy the Shoes.

My motto!

I have had a fun time working with the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set and the All Dressed Up Die Set!  Today I made a card with my life's motto on it as well as a couple of the cute little bags you can make to put gifts or chocolate or whatever you can fit in there.  My goodness!  The sentiments that come with the Stamp Set are so fun, I know I'll be using these all the time!  I have the directions for the card in my Facebook Group Shana's VIP Group.  I've got a Virtual Swap that goes on in the group and would love to have you join me there!
